Privacy Policy

Our Learning Journey ("the App") is a 10-day professional development programme for early years educators, built around the Wait, Watch, Wonder approach. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you use the App we collect:

• Account information — your name, email address, and role (e.g. Nursery Manager, Childminder).
• Profile details — work type, years of experience, and chosen programme start date.
• Reflections — text responses and optional audio recordings you submit as part of daily card and activity reflections.
• Progress data — which cards and activity sessions you have completed.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and personalise your learning experience.
• To track your progress through the 10-day programme.
• To store your reflections so you can review them later.
• To understand how the App is used so we can improve it (see Section 4).

3. Data Storage

Your account information, progress data, and reflections are stored securely using Supabase, a hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security. Audio recordings are stored in Supabase Storage. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

4. Analytics & Third-Party Services

To improve the App and understand how educators use it, we use the following services. These are used solely for app development and improving your experience — never for advertising or selling data.

• PostHog — product analytics that records screen views, feature usage, and user journeys. This helps us understand which parts of the programme are most useful and where we can make improvements. PostHog does not collect your name or email for analytics purposes.
• Microsoft Clarity — session replay and heatmap tool that shows us how people navigate the App. Recordings are anonymised and used only to identify usability issues. Clarity does not track users across other sites or apps.

You can opt out of analytics at any time from the Profile screen in the App.

5. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. The only third-party services that receive data are those listed in Sections 3 and 4, and they process data solely on our behalf to operate and improve the App.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the App, which permanently removes all associated data.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

8. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for adult early years educators. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
